Ben Rosenfield Class Field Theory

چکیده

This is the second iteration of my notes on class field theory. I am attempting to prove (what I feel are) the the essential facts of class field theory in a way that I find attractive (bounded above by my lack of experience, time constraints, and ennui). This note is still not quite complete and can be imprecise in places. This will be straightened out as time goes on. A list of spots that need work (and will be worked on in the near future): Section 1.4, (25), (29), Section 2.5, (38), (42), Global Kummer Case, Section 3.7; I may also make the homological algebra section more self-contained. These results are basically true for function fields, with minor alterations, but I am only doing this for number fields. Corrections/suggestions, etc are always welcome (rosenfie(at)math.umn.edu). Finally, I should mention that I have not been uniform in my notation. This will be fixed in the next iteration. Caveat Emptor.

Ben Rosenfield Iwasawa-Tate Theory

This will contain my notes on Iwasawa-Tate theory. This will be done first for number fields and simple algebras (a la Weil), giving some number theoretic results. The meat of these notes is a study of the Standard L-functions for GL(n). We extend this to arbitary simple algebras (a la Godement/Jacquet). This is a long term project. As of now, I have basically completed the first case. There ar...

Resume of Representation Theory for Real Reductive Groups ( 19 May 2006 )

A reductive Lie algebra g is one that can be written C(g) ⊕ [g,g], where C(g) denotes the center of g. Equivalently, for any ideal a, there is another ideal b such that g = a⊕ b. A Cartan subalgebra of g is a subalgebra h that is maximal with respect to being abelian and having ad X being semisimple for all X ∈ h. For a reductive group, h = C(g) ⊕ h′, where h′ is a Cartan subalgebra of the semi...

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE THEORY OF DIFFERENTIABLE STRUCTURES ON INFINITE INTEGRAL DOMAINS

A special class of differentiable functions on an infinite integral domain which is not a field is introduced. Some facts about these functions are established and the special case of z is studied in more detail
